    Fig and Walnut Rolls – Short bite flavour combination

    First of all: Sweet and savoury go hand in hand – we’ve known that at least since the IREKS TasteConFusion calendar on the topic of “Food Pairing”. Our Fig and Walnut Rolls might be a more subtle example of the mixed combination, but a very good one that can be combined in many ways.

    Did you know...: ...that both the fig was a real hit back in the days of the ancient Romans and Greeks and the walnut has been popular for a long time? That’s why we like to use them for our varied classic baked goods!

    Good to know: Instead of figs, you can use dates – or combine the two without further ado. What’s more, the dough can be used to make great bread in addition to rolls. Give it a try!

    Keen to experiment: As a topping, simply sprinkle mild soft goat cheese with fresh herbs and spread a blob of honey, and you will have a Mediterranean-style snack of roll!
